We’ve engaged The Energy Experts twice over the last 5 years. The first time was to install a 6.27kW solar power system and the second was to install a supplementary 8.13kW system with a battery and blackout protection. We were really happy to use them again, as we had great service the first time around.
Our place is a bit tricky, in that it only has single phase power, but energy usage on the property is high, as it's regularly occupied as an AirBNB… and sometimes guests aren't as careful with the energy usage as we might be.
Being in the Endeavour Energy area and only having single phase power, we have some limitations around how much power we can send back to the grid. The Energy Experts came up with a way for us to significantly oversize our system without being limited by the amount of power we export each day.
In addition to the SolarEdge Home Hub inverter that was recently installed, the team also installed a SolarEdge 10kWh Home Battery with a Back-Up Interface. With this, we can significantly oversize our solar array and we’re hardly affected by export limitation. Plus, our essential services are backed up in the event of a blackout, which is especially important when we have guests staying here. The lights never go off! Not to mention the microwave, refrigeration and the modem.
The system has had such a positive impact on our electricity bills. They went from being as high as $1600/quarter to the last bill being a credit. We don't always cover off all of our energy usage with our solar and a battery, but we cover off the vast majority most of the time.

We recently installed a solar array system through The Energy Experts. The system was a dual purpose one: the panels on the roof of the walkway between our house to our barn are DualSun panels, which heat our swimming pool and also generate electricity to power our house and our Tesla Powerwall 2 battery. The panels on the northern and eastern faces of our barn roof generate power for our home and also fill our battery.
After we accepted the quote, The Energy Experts organised the installation quickly and efficiently. The teams who did the electrical and plumbing installations were very thorough and comprehensively cleaned up after themselves. We are completely satisfied with both aspects of the system.
Our pool is a narrow, deep lap pool and the DualSun system has not only extended our swimming season but, because the pool’s depth meant that it did not warm much naturally during summer, it’s also made our ordinary summer use much more pleasant.
We are delighted with our regular monthly electricity accounts, which have been slashed (this includes many kilometres of electric fencing).
We found the initial provision of information friendly and comprehensive, and the system’s monitoring app is incredibly useful.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied customers and have already commenced exploring with The Energy Experts the possibility of installing an entirely off-grid system for a new house we are contemplating building.
Originally, Caro from The Energy Experts looked at our home and advised that it was not worthwhile installing panels, batteries etc because we are too shaded. I appreciated her honesty.

Don had a SolarEdge Inverter with LG panels installed and one of his biggest requirements was to not see the panels at all from the front of the property which The Energy Experts were able to achieve.
Don’s advice for anyone considering solar panels is:
"You go for a name that’s recognized and well known and you go to people you can refer to and be assured that you’re going to get some quality work. You’ve got to do your homework. Otherwise, if you chase the cheapies you’ll pay for it."

We’re incredibly happy with the production of our solar power system.
For the week of 4 – 10 November 2019, we’ve consistently produced above 90kWh with our 14kW LG/SolarEdge system, except for one cloudy day but still, we had FREE electricity for the day.
Carolyn Lee talks to Richard Andrews from Bowral about his solar system, battery and experience with The Energy Experts.
Richard’s property suffers from shading issues in the winter due to their leafy surrounds and hence chose SolarEdge Inverter technology and optimizers to help negate this. The optimizers allow his panels to operate independently so if one is affected by shade, it does not impact the remaining panels.
We’d highly recommend The Energy Experts. We were very satisfied with the whole process, starting with understanding what size and type of system would meet our needs, how best to install the panels on our tricky roof, to the actual installation and post-installation follow-up.
During our research phase, we found there was so much clutter on the internet about which products to buy. It was confusing! I found The Energy Experts’ consultative approach and also their website was incredibly helpful.
Our 10.5kW LG/ SolarEdge system has been performing beautifully since it was installed.
Even in winter, with panels facing north, east and west, we’re producing over 35kWh on a good day. I can’t wait for summer!
We had a reasonable size electricity bill each quarter and decided we should cut the bill.
The Energy Experts did the sums for us and told us what we needed to do to get the bill right down which is why we’ve gone with this system.
We have only had solar in for about 6 weeks and even though it’s been winter we’re generating, on a good sunny day, about 75 to 85kW.

I was very pleased when I came across The Energy Experts at the Sutherland Home Show, as I was hoping to find one company to coordinate the installation of a multiple energy-saving technologies.
Not only did they provide me with a high performance solar power system – the most efficient in the world – they also arranged for a solar hot water system and a pool blanket to be installed for us. I found the whole process easy and it saved me a heap of time shopping around getting multiple quotes. I’d be very comfortable recommending The Energy Experts to anyone wanting a quality installation and who wants to save money on their electricity bill.
When I decided it was time to go solar, I knew I wanted the best system that was on the market and I knew I wanted LG panels as their warranties were fabulous. So I sent LG a message enquiring about their product and they put me in touch with The Energy Experts .
Caro rang me the next day asking me about my electricity usage and, based on my annual power consumption, she recommended a 5.3kw LG panel system with a Fronius Symo inverter.
The process from start to finish was brilliant. I was informed when the system was due to be delivered to the installers and when my install would take place. The installation by the team was brilliant. They even went as far as putting padding between the ladder and the guttering to prevent scratching, and cleaned up all packaging when finished.
Technology can be very overwhelming sometimes and I was concerned that I wouldn’t understand the operation of the system but they went through everything with me and set up the WiFi app so I could see everything and monitor the system on my phone …. just brilliant.
It’s been nearly a year since I had my system installed and I wanted to write a review after seeing the difference over this period in my power consumption, and I have to say I’m very impressed. Prior to solar my average bill was around $480 a quarter and my last bill was $108. With advice from Caro, I’ve now negotiated a higher Solar Feed-In Tariff with my energy retailer, so it’s safe to say my solar power system will pay for itself in less than 4 years.

After the presentation given by Carolyn at our Lions Club, I was convinced that now was the time to go solar, after considering viability for a few years previously.
One phone call to The Energy Experts set the wheels in motion for required system – a 3.2kW 12 panel system and a reputable installer available to complete the installation and take care of the government subsidy all within the following week. This included completing the notification to our power supplier so we could send our surplus to the grid with remuneration deducted from our power bills.
The installer arranged by The Energy Experts not only completed the installation in the one day, but spent the remainder of the day assisting me trim trees that would affect the panels’ efficiency.
Our system has reduced our power bills by well in excess of 50% and allowed us to run equipment during the day while producing our own free power. Equipment such as reverse cycle air con which we had previously only used 2 – 3 times per year due to cost. Running the heat cycle of the air con during the sunshine hours in the winter has vastly reduced the use of our gas fired central heating system, saving big dollars in heating also.
We also do our laundry, ironing, and run the dishwasher during the day now. Previously we’d program the dishwasher and washing machine to operate during “off peak” overnight in order to save money.
All in all, we’re very satisfied with the whole experience, calibre of all involved, costs, and improvement to our lifestyle, with vastly reduced energy costs.
As the system is mounted on our flat section of roof, invisible from anywhere on the ground I’ve included a pic of me doing a 6 monthly clean of the surfaces.

We are delighted with the quality of the installation and absolutely amazed at the efficiency of the panels, which are performing above specification.
At one stage, yesterday, we were getting 8.7 KW – 1.5 kW above specification. Even now at 17.55, the system is still generating 2.9kw.
I should also add that the team turned up, when they said they would and they completed the whole job in one day with the minimum of inconvenience to us

The reasons we haven’t had solar before now was the up-front cost of the best system on the market today. At this stage in our lives, we are now in a position to be able to afford the cost and also our power bills have been increasing as well. Looking ahead towards retirement in a couple of years, we thought it was a good time.
As far as our experience with The Energy Experts went, it has been a really informative and pleasant experience. From the first phone call to Caro, who was a wealth of knowledge and explained everything we needed to know about how Solar Panels were going to work for us and designed a system best suited for our daily consumption and configuration for our roof.
The installation team were absolutely fantastic on the day and then having Cat visit as well to go through the final stages of getting the system up and running, was great.

Just had to let you know with the system we got, there is no need for a battery at all.
We have not had an electricity bill for a full 12 months now and $320 in credit still, could be worthwhile letting other potential customers know to go a bigger system than needed, which will help offset the bill.

The solar and battery are working great. Below is last week’s numbers. We only bought 0.7kW from the grid. Gotta be happy with that.
After installing a 6.57kw system with LG NeON2 365w panels and a 5kw SolarEdge HD Wave inverter Steve has not paid an electricity bill since installation.

Great advice, help and on-time installation. The team at The Energy Experts were very open and helpful, and even helped me tailor my own system with the panels I wanted and the inverter I wanted from a list of independently tested products.
The installation was delayed at my request until my roof was repaired and respirated, with no change in price or hesitation. Once that was done, the installation went ahead on time and done within a day. Overall, excellent service, delivery and installation.
Our most recent summer bill was $800 less than the same time last year. The result will have the cost paid back in under 24 months. I’m stoked!

We contacted The Energy Experts in January 2019 on the recommendation by a friend. We’d been considering solar energy for a while and finally, due to the rising costs of electricity, we decided it was time to make a choice.
Caro from The Energy Experts was very experienced and helpful in explaining the technical and installation details and we were convinced it was time to go solar.
The Energy Experts arranged for the installation of a 10kW system in early February. The local installation team was efficient, polite and extremely attentive to detail, ensuring the installation was neat and tidy.

The new system is way better than the one it replaced which was a gas boosted solar HWS. The new one generates enough hot water to provide for us without turning on the electric booster - even in the winter. We turn on the booster only if we have had a run of wet weather.
The replacement of the old HWS has allowed us to have the gas connection capped which is cheaper than having the supply totally removed. So now we save the gas connection fee of about a dollar a day and gas usage. A win win solution.

The battery seems to be working superbly. Fills to 100% quickly on a sunny morning and yesterday evening we were still running on solar when we went to bed.
I love the Tesla app – shows exactly which way the power is flowing – whether to or from the grid or battery, as well as immediately showing how much is accumulating or draining from the battery.
Even now, I can see the battery is full and power is getting sent to the grid, for which I am getting paid as well.
Exactly what we wanted. So far so good, highly impressed.
The new LG panels look great and the SolarEdge app shows we’re producing loads of electricity.

$74.77. The total of our quarterly electricity bill to 4 February, which includes a 30% discount for on-time payment as well as a $348.25 credit for power we fed into the grid from the solar array. We’ve also opted to pay for carbon neutral electricity, included in the above charge.
Not too shabby, considering we can have up to 8 people under our roof on any given night, 3 fridge/freezers as well as the septic system running 24/7, extensive home IT network (modem, 2 WiFi extenders, 2 printers and 5 smart TVs hard-wired to the router) and have the swimming pool plant to run.

Solar technology is developing rapidly and even for the technically-minded (let alone the layperson), it’s a big challenge to keep abreast of the industry changes and the available options. ‘One size fits all’ does not apply.
The Energy Experts made a very steep learning curve much more palatable. They were able to devise a solar power system that met all my requirements and provide a no-nonsense quote that was free of ‘retail hype and tripe’. The best feature about The Energy Experts is being able to tap into their experience and expertise and to be able to adjust and fine tune a solar system design before installation.
The installer had good communication skills, clearly explained the installation options, and completed a high-quality installation – no faults, no mistakes and no excuses.
The system performs even better than I expected. I just got my electricity bill for the winter quarter – $38 – and that’s how much I’ve had to pay for electricity for the last 12 months, since previous quarters all had a healthy credit – down from $1,200pa before you arranged my solar system.
We’re very happy with the service provided by The Energy Experts. They looked at our current usage and guided us towards a slightly larger system than we first planned, because we want to allow for an electric car in the future.
We’ve just received our first full 3-month electricity bill and we’re in credit. We didn’t have to pay one cent for electricity.

After installing a 6.6kw system with SunTech panels and a Fronius Primo inverter Cherie has not paid an electricity bill since installation.
Having the electricity and gas with the same provider the solar credits the system is producing pays for the gas bill.

Just a quick note to let you know our first quarterly electricity account over winter came in at 5 cents. We can manage that!
Almost halfway into the quarter, we’re over $100 in credit. Of course these results can change depending on Feed-In Tariffs offered, but so far looking good!
